this website. Thanks for coming, and come back often!
We're well on our way to two million, and it's still free!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy, and Thanks!

WARNING!!! (10/3/05): If you
receive an UNSOLICITED email that appears to be
from me or from this website, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY.
It is fraudulent. It is the usual spam garbage attempting to get your
personal information by requesting that you update your account, etc. This
is a free website. THERE ARE NO ACCOUNTS.
I do not send unsolicited email. If you receive an email from me, it is
because you emailed me with a question or posted a comment in my guestbook.
There is little that anyone can do about this kind of thing, so please be
careful. And, as always, thanks for your great emails and comments.

"For every house has a builder, but God is the one who
made everything."
Hebrews 3:4

"Music is well said to be the speech of
angels."--Thomas Carlyle
"The one who sings prays twice."--Ancient Christian
Saying, attributed to Thomas Aquinas
"Music is the single best proof not only that God exists,
but that He loves us."--Strummer
Music is the highest form of praise. When you play, know
that you are honoring the Lord, and that He is listening! And please, read the
Bible EVERY DAY, even if it is one short passage. The Lord will bless you
for it.

Me (left), El McMeen (center), and Larry Pattis (right) at a concert in Secaucus, NJ. I opened the show with a few tunes, and El
and Larry did full sets. A good time was had by all!

I offer the following as musical prayers for all of those
affected by the events of September 11th and for our brave troops in Iraq who are
protecting our freedom:

instead.]

Meadow
Run, a new CD from
Clarelynn Rose, is a masterwork. Read my review.
El McMeen has just released
his long-awaited Christmas CD, The Soul of Christmas Guitar. Read my
review.
Here's a new TAB for
you. Aura Lee is a traditional song that has
occasionally enjoyed new life as a pop tune. As always, there is a midi
to help you learn and play the song. I am also including a FREE PDF
file so that you can download and print the TAB. To open the file, you
will need the free Acrobat reader, which you can download at www.adobe.com.
Let me know if you like this, and would be willing to order additional TABS in
this format.
I have had so many requests
for TAB of "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" that I finally buckled
down and did the arrangement. Access it here.
The arrangement is also available in parallel standard notation and Tab here.
Both versions have a link to a midi file so you
can hear how it should sound when you play it. Enjoy!
Yours truly has recorded
some music for the soundtrack of "Danny Boy," a new film by
independent film maker, Colin Bannon. If you have a broadband connection
(cable modem or DSL) you can see the entire film (23 minutes) at www.mindlabfilms.com.
And while you're there, check out other examples of Colin's fine work!
I've added some midi
examples to the finger picking page to help you get the rhythm. I've had a
lot of questions about this. I hope the midis help.
Check out my new page, "Reading
Music II." It deals with the (dreaded) subject of sharps and flats in
standard notation.
You'll also want to visit
my new TABS page, where I'm posting my favorite
arrangements. The first entry is a great hymn tune, "How Great Thou
Art." It includes a midi file so you can hear how it should sound as
you play the tab. A great chantey is now available, "Spanish
Ladies," as well as a great hymn tune, "O Waly, Waly."
I've also just posted a new tune, the traditional folk song, "Aura
Lee." Enjoy!
Check out my lesson on Low
C Tuning!
It's fast becoming my favorite!

These lessons on jazz chords, Open G tuning, D open tuning, DADGAD tuning,
drop D tuning, and basic finger picking are designed to help you play
better--FAST. Coming soon--more alternate tunings, practice techniques, tabs,
and finger picking patterns to help you play better.

Please visit often. I really think you'll learn something!
And please sign in to my guestbook. Because the spammers have now invaded
guestbooks, I've been forced to review each entry before it is posted.
Therefore, if you post to the guestbook, it won't appear immediately. But
if it's a legitimate post, it will appear within a day or so. Thanks for
